ATH Móvil promoting the socio-economic development of Puerto Rico
In 2023, we launched aportaporathmovil.com, a fundraising platform for our ATH Business clients to create campaigns and receive funds through ATH Móvil.
In 2020, we presented ATH Móvil as an enabler of socio-economic development in Puerto Rico helping thousands of organizations across the island. This benefited Puerto Rican non-profits organizations:
- Supported the Giving Tuesday national initiative in 2020, 2021 and 2022, as the preferred payment method facilitating donations to hundreds of non-for-profit organizations.
- In November 2022 we celebrated the 2nd edition of ATH Móvil for Puerto Rico initiative, partnering with a leading television network in Puerto Rico. It was a contest where individuals could donate to over 700 organizations in our ATH Móvil “Donate” network. The six organizations that received the most donations were given an additional $5,000 bonus by Evertec, making Evertec’s total contribution to this initiative $30,000. As a result, the ATH Mobile initiative for Puerto Rico managed to raise over $200,000 for non-profit organizations on the island within a week through the Donate feature of ATH Movil.

Committed to community engagement
Supporting our community means supporting their needs, goals, and dreams. This also means giving our communities the tools to achieve them. Some initiatives we have implemented as part of our corporate responsibility programs include:
Support for education
- In 2015, we established a scholarship program for students in our communities and for our employees and their children.
- Scholarships are granted to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in over 25 tertiary institutions
- In 2020, our scholarship program was refocused to promote gender diversity.
- These modifications increased the number of female applicants pursuing degrees in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
- In just one year, we reduced the disparity of men to women applicants from 3:1 in 2019 to 1:1, which we were able to replicate in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
- We are hopeful that similar initiatives will address the gender disparities in STEM careers not only in PR but also across Latin America
- We are proud to run a scholarship program that promotes collaboration with the nonprofit sector, the technology ecosystem, and the universities in Puerto Rico, Latin America, and other main actors in the field of education.
