The PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council) is an open world forum with the objective of formulating, improving, storing, disseminating, and applying all of the necessary security standards to guarantee the protection of account data.
In turn, the PCI SSC is the Council that defines the security standards consisting of physical, logical and administrative controls (PCI DSS) to meet this objective. In the PCI Council, any processor or service provider dedicated to processing, storing, or transmitting payment card data, is required to comply with the standards previously agreed upon.
As a participating organization, Evertec plays a relevant role in the continuous development of PCI security standards, as it brings together a global network of almost 800 companies in more than 60 countries and collaborates in the assurance of standards that are implemented globally to secure payment data.
In addition, by being a member, Evertec can participate in the annual PCI meetings, which benefits its customers in the implementation of early knowledge and adaptation of the new standards that arise in the Council. In this way, Evertec plays a key role, facing its customers, increasing data security, and staying at the forefront of payments processing technology.
