Last June, Evertec officially launched its digital payment platform, Placetopay, in the Puerto Rico market, thus expanding its offering of secure, agile, and versatile electronic transactions. This service, already in place in 8 countries, is distinguished for its ability to receive payments through different channels and to enable multiple payment methods quickly and easily, as well as for featuring the highest security standards.
Placetopay is a robust and complete platform that adapts to the needs of any type of business, from the simplest to the most complex, providing businesses of all sizes and industries with access to the latest online sales management technologies. With this new payment platform, Evertec can help businesses, especially local Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMB), to become part of the world of e-commerce.
The launch was announced through a press conference held at the central plaza of Distrito T-Mobile in San Juan, which was attended by Mike Vizcarrondo, Evertec’s Chief Commercial Officer for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, and Guillermo Rospigliosi, Evertec’s Chief Product, and Innovation Officer. Both executives discussed the subject of e-commerce, the importance of Placetopay, why it arrived in the local market, its advantages, and how it works, among other topics. Several of Evertec’s commercial sector clients who were part of the pilot phase also participated in this event. They shared their experiences and the advantages Placetopay has offered their businesses and clients. These included representatives of Arcos Dorados Puerto Rico & USVI, Outumuro Group, and Totto Puerto Rico. Those in attendance included representatives of the main organizations offering Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMB) services in the island, including United Center for Retailers (CUD, by its Spanish acronym), the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, Asociación Hecho en P.R., and the Puerto Rico Electronic Commerce Association.
