Evertec is the clear example of how to integrate strategies aimed at this purpose; it is the key to achieving great business results. Proof of this is the company’s inclusion, for the third time, in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index, which highlights its commitment to and transparency in the promotion of women’s equality within the organization.
Bogotá, February 2021. Evertec, a leading company of transaction processing services in Latin America, stands out in the industry as an organization that features diversity, equity, and inclusion as its pillars.
Part of Evertec’s efforts is reflected in their positioning as an employer brand, by promoting several policies based on equity and gender diversity, free of prejudice and fostering an inclusive culture where women can occupy leadership roles, as well as anti-harassment policies. These have been effective tools that the corporation is proud of.
Recently, Evertec received the news that, for the third consecutive year, it would be included in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index, which identifies companies committed to transparency in the disclosure of gender-related reports and the promotion of women’s equality. This index also measures gender equality based on five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand.
“For Evertec, it is gratifying to see that all of the efforts that we promote within the company are reflected in the industry. Being included in this important index for the third time in a row shows us that our programs –focused on developing female talent through leadership roles– and our diversity efforts are on the right path”, says Paola Pérez, Executive Vice-President and Evertec’s main administrative officer lead in human resources management.
This is not the only aspect worth highlighting. As part of Evertec’s commitment to women’s growth within the organization, they held part of the Globant Awards – Women That Build Edition, an award that recognizes women who have made their careers in technology and manage innovation projects and collaborations. One of the five finalists for this award was Patricia Parrado, Technology Manager for Colombia, who stood out among a large number of participants due to her professional trajectory, academic training, leadership, and impact on the community.
“It is an honor for us that one of our leaders is part of this select group of women who have been recognized for their leadership skills and knowledge in the sector. This shows that women in Evertec can change the vision of the industry and greatly improve the company’s ideas”, says Enrique Candanoza, Country Head of Evertec Colombia.
Evertec has two offices in Colombia, located in Bogotá and Medellín, that meet all of the pillars for which the organization is recognized.
The efforts made by Evertec to achieve this recognition include the following:
- Promote an inclusive culture among its employees.
- Develop female talent through leadership roles.
- Include policies to protect against, prevent, and address sexual harassment.
- Integrate, as a brand hallmark, Evertec’s value as a pro-gender diversity and prejudice-free employer.
37% of our employees are women, 26% of whom work in information technology, which is significant since it has been shown that the role of women in the technology industry is key to the development of the sector.
With these achievements in the field of gender equity, Evertec is reaffirmed as one of the leading companies to feature inclusion, not only at the national level but also globally, as an ideal path for business productivity and growth, something that has been evidenced through its figures.
