We are pleased to announce our participation as a technology partner of Banco de Chile in the development of its acquirer: Banchile Pagos.
This project marks a milestone in Evertec’s expansion in the Southern Cone and reinforces its position as one of the main technology providers in the Chilean financial ecosystem. The platform was developed over a period of six months by a multinational team led from Chile, made up of professionals from more than five Latin American countries.
“This alliance confirms Evertec’s role as a strategic technology partner for the region’s leading financial institutions. With Banchile Pagos, we are strengthening our relationship with one of Latin America’s leading banks and continuing to promote a more modern, interoperable, and secure payment system in Chile.”
Daniel Barba, Head of South LAC & Country Manager at Evertec Chile.
Evertec will be responsible for administering, managing, and safeguarding the operations of the new acquiring network, including the authorization and reconciliation of Visa and Mastercard transactions, as well as the implementation of advanced real-time security, monitoring, prevention, and fraud detection systems.
Evertec’s participation in this project reflects its strategy of collaborating with multiple players in the payment ecosystem, promoting competition and innovation. In Chile, the company already provides services to other relevant players in acquiring, as well as banks, fintechs, and retailers, consolidating itself as a leading technology partner in the sector.
“The nature of Evertec, both in Chile and throughout the region, is precisely that of being a neutral technology enabler that supports multiple players in the payments ecosystem within the same geography. We are very proud to have the privilege of collaborating with an institution of the caliber of Banco de Chile,” added Barba.
With a presence in 26 countries and more than 20 years of experience, Evertec processes more than 11 billion transactions annually and offers a portfolio of solutions ranging from in-person and mobile payments through its issuing and acquiring platforms to tokenization, QR codes, and automated reconciliation for merchants and financial institutions.
“The Banchile Pagos case demonstrates our ability to deliver high-impact solutions within challenging timeframes and under the highest standards of security and compliance,” said Barba. “We will continue to actively contribute to the development of the digital payments ecosystem in Chile and the region.”
