The evolution of ANDA’s card program marked a new step in strengthening its value proposition for members. Through Evertec’s PayStudio platform, the organization migrated from a private-label card model to a solution with international acceptance, expanding payment options, enhancing security, and adapting its card issuance and delivery processes to chip technology.
The challenge: expanding reach and improving the member experience
For years, the ANDA card operated within a domestic acceptance network. As members’ needs evolved, an opportunity emerged to offer a solution with broader acceptance, stronger security standards, and an experience more closely aligned with consumers’ current expectations.
In addition to expanding where and how the card could be used, the organization sought to maintain a fast and seamless in-branch delivery experience by adapting its on-demand issuance model to the new technological requirements of chip-enabled cards.
The solution: an implementation focused on flexibility and efficiency
To address these challenges, ANDA worked with Evertec to implement a PayStudio-based solution tailored to its operational needs and designed to support the continued growth of the card program.
The initiative included:
- Migrating from a private-label card to an internationally accepted scheme, significantly expanding usage options for members.
- Implementing a flexible processing platform tailored to the business requirements.
- Incorporating chip and contactless technology to strengthen security and enhance the payment experience.
- Enabling an on-demand issuance model, allowing active, ready-to-use cards to be delivered directly at branches.
- Providing specialized support from Evertec throughout the process, combining technical expertise with payments industry knowledge.
The results: more options, greater security, and a more seamless experience
The implementation strengthened ANDA’s card program while introducing new capabilities for its members.
Key results include:
- Access to a global acceptance network, enabling purchases at physical merchants and international e-commerce platforms.
- An agile and effective VISA certification process, supporting the successful launch of the solution.
- A simplified PCI certification process, enabled by the implemented technology architecture.
- Enhanced transaction security through chip technology and contactless payments.
- Continued delivery of active, ready-to-use cards at branches, minimizing wait times while maintaining a fast and seamless service experience for members.
More than eight years of collaboration supporting innovation
This initiative builds on a relationship that began in 2018. Over the years, Evertec has worked alongside ANDA to support the evolution of its financial services through technology solutions, specialized support, and payments industry expertise.
The launch of the new card also represented an important milestone for both organizations. During the launch event, ANDA unveiled an advertising campaign featuring figures from Uruguayan football and presented Evertec with a special recognition for its contribution to the development of the initiative.
“This milestone reflects the value of combining technology, expertise, and collaboration to address concrete business challenges. Together with ANDA, we have advanced the evolution of its card program, introducing new capabilities that enhance the member experience, strengthen security, and enable the continued development of services aligned with market needs.”
